While writing website copy and print copy are different, you can use the general guildelines below to improve your returns and marketing messages on both.</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>Have a headline that attracts your target audiences attention. Use a customer benefit solution headline, us the word &#8216;YOU&#8217; in headline or even include your offer in the headline. &#8220;Get to the meat early.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Make sure you read your copy out loud to someone so you can hear where sentences should end and begin and if the copy you wrote makes sense.</p>
<p><strong>3</strong>. Use  testimonials.</p>
<p><strong>4.</strong> Include your guarantee. The longer your guarantee the better off you&#8217;ll be and testimonials build credibility with new prospects.</p>
<p><strong>5.</strong> Break up large paragraphs of copy with subheaders. People are scan readers.</p>
<p><strong>6</strong>. Use images, people think in pictures.</p>
<p><strong>7.</strong> Use a PS. Use your offer as a close in your PS, to drive home your guarantee, add any free bonus you have in your offer or as a call to action.</p>
<p><strong>8.</strong> Break up sentences and paragraphs. Don&#8217;t have paragraphs of copy that are all 4 lines in length.</p>
<p><strong>9</strong>. Use a case study in your print marketing, company profiles, website or blogs.</p>
<p><strong>10</strong>. Write in terms of benefits using the language and tone your target audience use.</p>
<p><strong>11.</strong> Have a call to action. Tell people what desired action you&#8217;d like them to take.</p>

<p>Hi and Thanks so much for tuning in to March&#8217;s lead generation tips.</p>
<p>As promised over the next few months I&#8217;ll be sharing some of the lead generation strategies others and I use to generate qualified leads.</p>
<p><strong>Strategy 1. Front-end or Acquisition marketing. Make yourself known to businesses in your local business area.</strong> In my street alone there are approx 50 businesses and many of them about 15 are already clients after about 8 months in my offices. My point is if you have an office make yourself known to your fellow business owners and I don&#8217;t just mean by sending them a find them, flog them and forget them flyer.</p>
<p>Every business in my street is entitled to a 15% price saving on a range of monthly copywriting and marketing offers I have going and they know it once a month, every month but more importantly I know who they are and they know who I am and what I do.</p>
<p><strong>Strategy 2. Back-end marketing and database building.  Create top of mind awareness with your E-newsletters</strong>. While this is a no brainer it never ceases to amaze me how many businesses sole focus is getting new clients when they have a goldmine of potential new clients in the wings from their existing customers. Think about, an existing client already knows you, how you work, what your rates are generally and the relationship and trust is already there.</p>
<p>My point? On average 87% of my work comes from my existing clients and the reasons for that are I am in their mind at least once a month through an e-zine or e-newsletter. It&#8217;s cheap, easy and quick and create top of mind awareness in the mind of your existing client so when they know someone else they say Oh give so and so a call. Remember the 80/20 rule. Make your newsletter 80% about them and 20% about you.</p>
<p><strong>Strategy 3. Front-end and back-end marketing.</strong> Hold a competition and drive it through your new marketing strategies and your marketing to your back-end (existing clients). This is a great way to build your database, stimulate referrals and acquire more work from your existing clients. Plus with the social media tools we have these days such as youtube, Linkedin,Twitter, Facebook and heaps of other social media  platforms you can drive and raise awareness about your competition.</p>

<p><strong>Strategy 4. Back-end marketing. Reactivate old customers.</strong> These people used to do business with you so a percentage will probably do business with you again. I tend to call these people myself and do a touch base with them on how they are going. I don&#8217;t phone them to sell them, I just phone them and say Hi it&#8217;s been a while since we last spoke and I just wanted to say hi.</p>
<p>If phoning them doesn&#8217;t work for you, try using email or mailing them a hardcopy newsletter or something similar such as an article with a post-it note on it that says &#8220;Hi Name&#8221; thought this article may be of interest to you. Hope you are well and Thanks Eddie.&#8221; Also include your business card.</p>
<p><strong>Strategy 5. Front-end Marketing. This one only works for specific services such as Real Estate Agents, copywriters, printers and website designers. </strong>In Australia you&#8217;ll see Real estate Agents with their sign out in the front of the property saying &#8220;Another Property Sold By &lt;company name&gt;.</p>
<p>This is a great way to generate new clients if you are person who drives by the house on your way home everyday, are thinking of selling and the house has sold reasonably quickly.</p>
<p>A similar strategy I use is to put a small project sentence on every project I write and in return the client receives a preferred price saving. By featuring the sentence &#8220;another promotion written with passion by Eddie&#8217;s Copywriting &amp; Marketing Centre and little photo of me much like an artist does this builds my brand and brings me new work. Of course if the person who receives the promotion does not don&#8217;t like the copy, they won&#8217;t be ringing me and that’s okay.</p>
<p>So there you have it. Keep your eye out for Aprils lead generation strategies and be safe.</p>
<p>Oh and one more thing I realise you may be there saying to yourself yeah I know that, the question is are you doing your lead nurturing and lead generation consistently?</p>

<h3><strong>What&#8217;s a website landing page?</strong></h3>

<p>A website ‘landing page’, ‘squeeze page’ or jump page’ is a web page you land on or are sent to from an email with a link in it.</p>
<p>Okay, so why not send them directly to your website home page?</p>
<p>Well, let’s say you’re having a seminar, selling a new product or you have a new service and you want to generate qualified leads.</p>
<p>If you send them to your website home page there’s a good chance your prospect may have trouble finding your offer which means they may end up getting lost on your website.</p>
<p>This also means they lose interest and leave your website or they’ll keep looking around your site and forget about the special offer you wanted to make them aware of in the first place. With a dedicated website landing you take people directly to the whitepaper, free report download, webinar, seminar, teleseminar or offer you want them to respond to or register for.</p>
<h3><strong>Here’s some quick and easy tips and the format to writing a great website landing page of your own! </strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>1. Thank them – </strong>Acknowledge they are in the right place with a sentence such as Thanks for responding to the email we sent you recently. Doing this ensures they know they are in the right place the second they hit your landing page as it a page specially created for them and contributes to ongoing communication which also builds trust.</p>
<p><strong>2. Keep it short and simple – </strong>have a primary or core headline to support your email or offer.</p>
<p><strong>3. Capture name and email address</strong> – Make sure your have an email address and name capture field on your landing page. Why? Because the whole point of this is to get people who are interested at whatever level they may be to put their hands up.</p>
<p>When they respond by entering their name and email address on your landing page they are saying yes I am interested or yes I want to buy your book or whatever it is you are offering on your landing page.</p>
<p>Examples: Landing pages can be used to register for a webinar, download a free report, take advantage of a special offer, product or service, receive free marketing tips and much more.</p>
<p><strong>4. Make it short, make it sweet </strong>– Don’t make your landing page copy or the content on the page over the top or intensive. People are time poor, don&#8217;t like sharing too much personal information and if you make it a lot of copy to read, they’ll give you the flick.</p>
<p><strong>5. Build Trust and credibility, reduce skeptics</strong> – I usually feature a short testimonial on the website landing pages that supports the offer, product or service when I write website landing pages for my clients. The reason I do that is it helps build credibility and trust with people and helps support the claim or offer on the landing page.</p>
<p><strong>6. Privacy </strong>– People are hesitant about giving out their personal information online so make sure you have privacy policy that’s clear and easy to understand but not 4 pages long.</p>
<p><strong>Following up – </strong>Whatever the purpose of your landing page is or was and people have taken you up on your offer make sure you follow up on them using email auto responders, phone, print or electronic communications. Whatever works best for you?</p>
