While writing website copy and print copy are different, you can use the general guildelines below to improve your returns and marketing messages on both.</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>Have a headline that attracts your target audiences attention. Use a customer benefit solution headline, us the word &#8216;YOU&#8217; in headline or even include your offer in the headline. &#8220;Get to the meat early.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Make sure you read your copy out loud to someone so you can hear where sentences should end and begin and if the copy you wrote makes sense.</p>
<p><strong>3</strong>. Use  testimonials.</p>
<p><strong>4.</strong> Include your guarantee. The longer your guarantee the better off you&#8217;ll be and testimonials build credibility with new prospects.</p>
<p><strong>5.</strong> Break up large paragraphs of copy with subheaders. People are scan readers.</p>
<p><strong>6</strong>. Use images, people think in pictures.</p>
<p><strong>7.</strong> Use a PS. Use your offer as a close in your PS, to drive home your guarantee, add any free bonus you have in your offer or as a call to action.</p>
<p><strong>8.</strong> Break up sentences and paragraphs. Don&#8217;t have paragraphs of copy that are all 4 lines in length.</p>
<p><strong>9</strong>. Use a case study in your print marketing, company profiles, website or blogs.</p>
<p><strong>10</strong>. Write in terms of benefits using the language and tone your target audience use.</p>
<p><strong>11.</strong> Have a call to action. Tell people what desired action you&#8217;d like them to take.</p>

<p>Reasons why you should consider using social media:</p>
<p><strong>It’s natural</strong>. Not only do you get natural links without any discernible pattern, your website is exposed to large groups of people in a spontaneous fashion. This differs from paid advertising which has overt commercial overtones.</p>
<p><strong>It’s defensible</strong>. Once successfully mastered, social communities can be a great source of web traffic on top of any traffic you are already receiving from search engines. While you can’t easily increase your search engine traffic, social media traffic can be very easily controlled through strategic marketing.</p>
<p><strong>It’s low-cost/high returns</strong>. If done by yourself, costs are limited to only time and perhaps the expenses involved in hiring a freelance programmer/designer. The benefits will often exceed the cost. It would take you thousands of dollars to buy many links; social media has the ability to give you that for free.</p>
<p><strong>Social media compliments other efforts</strong>. Social media optimization and marketing is usually community-specific. It doesn’t interfere with any other methods of getting traffic to your website. It can and will fit perfectly with an advertising campaign targeting other websites or search engines.</p>
<h1><strong> How to launch a business, product or service using social media</strong></h1>
<p>Let&#8217;s say you want to open up a new nail salon business. Instead of spending thousands of dollars placing ads in local newspapers and publications here’s how you can use social media.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong> Grab a Facebook Page, Twitter Profile, YouTube account, LinkedIn and a Flickr account.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong> Six weeks or so before your grand opening or product launch you start growing your community.</p>
<p>You use the search function in Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to engage with potential customers by running localised, real time searches for people talking about nails, manicures, and other related services.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 3</strong>. You then post videos and pictures to your YouTube account of you getting your location ready for opening day.</p>
<p>You notice that as you spend more time on these networks, more people are talking to you and you&#8217;re expanding your reach.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 4</strong>. Then three weeks or more before the grand opening, you announce your running a competition. You upload photos or video of the worst nails you’ve seen and ask your social media community to do the same. The winner with the worst nails gets free nail treatments for a month or something as their prize. Your Internet audience loves the contest. After all, who hasn&#8217;t had a bad haircut before?</p>
<p>By now, photos are uploaded, videos are being posted and people are spending time with you and your brand. By the time opening day runs around, you&#8217;ve built up so much interest in your nail Salon that people are dying to find out more. On opening day, you send out a digital coupon to your social network &#8211; 20% off of a nail treatment if you mention the network you found it on.</p>
<p>People with good nails, bad nails and downright ugly nails come into your Salon in droves, coupons in hand.</p>
<p>Even after opening day, your social media efforts continue to pay off as people talk about your Salon to their friends, and your brand starts to grow through word of mouth. You continue to engage in the coming months by posting regular videos and photos of the services you provide. Your booking book is filled for the next 6 months &#8211; and all because you spent a few hours with some social media tools.</p>
<p><strong>Lead Generation</strong></p>
<p>Through the power of Twitter Search, you&#8217;re able to search for people who are talking about bad nails within 5km, 10km or 30kms of your nail Salon. Whenever someone mentions a bad nail experience, you&#8217;re able to start up a conversation, and offer them a special offer or price on a &#8220;I can fix your nail problem for you&#8221;. Over time, about 50% of the people you offer this coupon to come in, and of those, let’s say anywhere from 20% &#8211; 40% come back for another nail treatment. That&#8217;s powerful.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ve maintained your Flickr and YouTube accounts since launch, and every now and then, you&#8217;ll post a coupon code in a photo or video. You estimate that you get about 5 extra people coming in for nail treatments each month, and the average customer value of these is about $25 more than standard walk-ins.</p>
<p>The great aspect of social media is with proper attention, it significantly expands the entry points for your brand and business. Now, instead of customers finding you through just Google Search, or the Yellow Pages, they can find you through Search, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, and many, many more.</p>
<p><strong>Goodwill</strong></p>
<p>What&#8217;s even more powerful with social media is its capabilities for engaging people while generating exposure for your company and brand. If people are involved with you on an emotional level, they will be much more likely to refer friends and family to your business, as well as talk positively about your brand.</p>

<p>As business owners you and I both know these days we need more than just one source of lead generation for our business.</p>
<p>So, over the next few bulletin blast editions you&#8217;re in for a treat because I&#8217;ll be sharing some of most popular lead generation strategies I and others use  that you can put to work in your own business as well. Some may be strategies you&#8217;ve heard or used before. Some may work for you, some may not but if your sick high priced advertising that brings little or no results you owe it to yourself and your business to at least test them.</p>
<p><strong>Okay here&#8217;s five lead generation strategies for February.</strong></p>
<h3><strong>1. Preferred Customer Card.</strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong>This is a small card about the size of a business card I use and send to my customers who have spent a certain amount of money with me. This helps turn one times buyers into two, three and more times buyers and entitles my customers to specific services and price savings from Eddie&#8217;s Copywriting &amp; Marketing Centre.</p>
<h3><strong>2. Use fax broadcasts.</strong></h3>
<p>In this day and age of electronic media, some businesses are receiving quite good results using fax broadcasts on their acquisition (new customer campaigns) and their back-end (previous customers campaigns). Something to at least consider.</p>
<h3><strong>3. Online Forums. </strong></h3>
<p>I&#8217;ll say it once and I&#8217;ll say it again. &#8220;People love to buy, but hate to be sold.&#8221; Based on my experiences, taking part, offering your opinion and giving advice where people are asking for it and not selling in online forums is invaluable to helping build relationships with people around the corner or around the world. It also helps position you as the go to expert in your chosen field and helps drive brand awareness.</p>
<h3><strong>4. Write a report and give strategic alliances permission to rebrand it as their own.</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Step 1.</strong> First write a report that your target audience would find useful. 11 Tips to writing a company brochure as an example.</p>
<p><strong>Step 2.</strong> Let one or more strategic alliance services you have know that they can rebrand your report as their own and offer it to their clients. In my case I could offer my report to printers, website design and development companies, network groups, media, marketing service companies, online forums and a few more businesses.</p>
<p><strong>Step 3. </strong>The only requirement for them to rebrand your report and use it as their own is to make sure the report still has your web links in it.</p>
<h3><strong>5. Create traffic and leads with your Email signature files.</strong></h3>
<p>We all receive, read and reply to plenty of emails each day so instead of just having your name, logo and contact details on the bottom of your emails let&#8217;s help drive some traffic to your website and build your database with a percentage of qualified prospects.</p>
<p><strong>Just include something of value for people that&#8217;s free on your website or that people have to phone you for.</strong></p>

<h2>6 tips to writing a powerful website landing page</h2>

<p>“Hi Eddie. I’m really confused, what’s a website landing page and how do I use them in my business?”</p>
<h3><strong>What&#8217;s a website landing page?</strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>A website ‘landing page’, ‘squeeze page’ or jump page’ is a web page you land on or are sent to from an email with a link in it.</p>
<p>Okay, so why not send them directly to your website home page?</p>
<p>Well, let’s say you’re having a seminar, selling a new product or you have a new service and you want to generate qualified leads.</p>
<p>If you send them to your website home page there’s a good chance your prospect may have trouble finding your offer which means they may end up getting lost on your website.</p>
<p>This also means they lose interest and leave your website or they’ll keep looking around your site and forget about the special offer you wanted to make them aware of in the first place. With a dedicated website landing you take people directly to the whitepaper, free report download, webinar, seminar, teleseminar or offer you want them to respond to or register for.</p>
<h3><strong>Here’s some quick and easy tips and the format to writing a great website landing page of your own! </strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>1. Thank them – </strong>Acknowledge they are in the right place with a sentence such as Thanks for responding to the email we sent you recently. Doing this ensures they know they are in the right place the second they hit your landing page as it a page specially created for them and contributes to ongoing communication which also builds trust.</p>
<p><strong>2. Keep it short and simple – </strong>have a primary or core headline to support your email or offer.</p>
<p><strong>3. Capture name and email address</strong> – Make sure your have an email address and name capture field on your landing page. Why? Because the whole point of this is to get people who are interested at whatever level they may be to put their hands up.</p>
<p>When they respond by entering their name and email address on your landing page they are saying yes I am interested or yes I want to buy your book or whatever it is you are offering on your landing page.</p>
<p>Examples: Landing pages can be used to register for a webinar, download a free report, take advantage of a special offer, product or service, receive free marketing tips and much more.</p>
<p><strong>4. Make it short, make it sweet </strong>– Don’t make your landing page copy or the content on the page over the top or intensive. People are time poor, don&#8217;t like sharing too much personal information and if you make it a lot of copy to read, they’ll give you the flick.</p>
<p><strong>5. Build Trust and credibility, reduce skeptics</strong> – I usually feature a short testimonial on the website landing pages that supports the offer, product or service when I write website landing pages for my clients. The reason I do that is it helps build credibility and trust with people and helps support the claim or offer on the landing page.</p>
<p><strong>6. Privacy </strong>– People are hesitant about giving out their personal information online so make sure you have privacy policy that’s clear and easy to understand but not 4 pages long.</p>
<p><strong>Following up – </strong>Whatever the purpose of your landing page is or was and people have taken you up on your offer make sure you follow up on them using email auto responders, phone, print or electronic communications. Whatever works best for you?</p>
<p>This lead generation and strategy is to get people to raise their hands and express a level of interest, capture their name and email address to help build your database with qualified people so they enter your marketing funnel.</p>
